Who are we?
The Screaming Carrot is a small bakery producing dairy-free, egg-free, vegetarian pasties and cakes. We are committed to creating tasty foods that are vegan — but our baked goods are only the physical expression of the values we hold.

Our retail customers are largely drawn from our local neighbourhood, but many vegans, vegetarians and people with specialist diets also travel to our shop to purchase our baked goods. You can also purchase our pasties and cakes from other shops in Nottingham and the East Midlands, including wholefood stores, delis and cafés.

We also sell dairy-free, egg-free vegetarian groceries, sourced from ethical, British suppliers.

History
The Screaming Carrot operates from a small premises on the corner of Berridge and Foxhall roads in the Forest Fields area of Nottingham. This location has hosted a vegetarian bakery/grocery store in many forms and with different names for more than a decade, initially as co-operatives. In 1998, Jo Salter renovated the premises and opened as The Screaming Carrot.

In February 2005 Andrew Mills and Lenore Ogilvy bought the Screaming Carrot from Jo. Today, Andrew operates the business as a sole proprietor with the assistance of a small but dedicated team.
